On 8th April Microsoft ends support of Windows XP and Office 2003. We’ve been helping many of our clients overcome this issue of late, and making sure it doesn’t cost them the earth by offering 50% off XP migrations.
If you have any PCs running XP or Office 2003 you need to start planning for their replacement. If you are thinking “We’ll be fine”, then you should probably think again …
Running Windows XP SP3 in your environment after April 8 may expose you to these potential risks –
Security
Without security updates, your PC may become vulnerable to harmful viruses, spyware, and other malicious software which can steal or damage your business data and information. Anti-virus software will also not be able to fully protect you once Windows XP itself is unsupported.
Compliance
Businesses that are governed by regulatory bodies may find that they are no longer able to meet compliance requirements.
Software provider support
Many software vendors will no longer support their products running on Windows XP as they are unable to receive Windows XP updates.
Hardware Manufacturer support
Many PC hardware manufacturers will stop supporting Windows XP on existing and new hardware. Meaning if the hardware fails, you are on your own.
